Devereaux Peters, another Mercury player with Big East ties, won the award in 2011 and 2012. Her career began with the Minnesota Lynx, where she won two championships. The Lynx's victories over the Atlanta Dream and the Indiana Fever showcased Peters' talent.
Minnesota's decision to trade Peters to Indiana for Natasha Howard opened new doors for Peters. After a season with the Fever, she signed with the Mercury, solidifying her connection to the Big East.
