China Logistics Sector Expands in November: Key Insights & Trends (2026)

China's logistics industry continues to show signs of robust growth in November, a trend that could surprise those expecting a slowdown. But here's where it gets controversial: despite global economic uncertainties, China’s logistics activity has sustained its expansion, indicating resilience and possibly even acceleration in certain sectors.

The latest figures released by the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing reveal that the logistics activity index, which serves as a key indicator of economic health, was recorded at 50.9 percent in November. This marks a modest increase of 0.2 percentage points compared to the previous month, signaling ongoing growth rather than stagnation or decline.

Looking closer at regional differences, the central parts of the country saw a business volume index of 51 percent, while in the western regions, it was slightly higher at 51.2 percent, both surpassing the national average. Meanwhile, the eastern regions posted an index of 50.5 percent—a slight increase of 0.1 percentage points from the month before. These regional numbers suggest that economic activity remains diverse across China, with some areas performing even better than the national average.

Certain industries continue to push demand upward, notably those involved in manufacturing transportation equipment, household appliances, furniture, smart devices, as well as automotive and auto parts sectors. Hu Han, an official at the China Logistics Information Center, highlights that these sectors are experiencing consistent upward momentum, fueling overall industry confidence.

Furthermore, a positive outlook is evidenced by China's business expectations index, which stood at an impressive 54.9 percent last month. Staying within a high-confidence zone, this figure suggests optimistic prospects for future growth, even amid global uncertainties.

Some might argue that these numbers hint at a resilient economy that defies many pessimistic forecasts. But is this sustained growth sustainable long-term, or are we seeing only a temporary bounce? What are your thoughts on China’s logistics momentum in the face of worldwide economic challenges? Feel free to share your take in the comments!
